SETTING UP DIALUP FOR XVI - WIN 2000 1. Click "Start", "Settings", "Network and Dialup Connections". Double-click on "Make New Connection". 2. Select "Dial-up to the Internet". 3. Make sure you choose to set your connection up manually. 4. You want to select "I connect through a phone line and modem" Then click 'NEXT'. 5. Enter the area code 219, and the phone number of 690-2200. Hit "Next." 6. For the username here, use your email address. Use your password for he password. 7. Name the connection "XVI". 8. You can set email up later. Click "Next" 9. Click "Finish" 10. You will see the "Network and Dialup Connections" window again. Right-click on the icon for "XVI", and click on "Properties", then select the "networking tab". 11. Click "Settings" and make sure all boxes are checked. Hit "Ok". 12. Be sure TCP/IP is checked, click it to highlight it, and click on "Properties". Make sure "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically" are selected. 13. Click "Advanced" and make sure "Use default gateway on remote network" is checked. Click "Ok". on all windows. 14. On the "Network and Dialup Connections" window, right-click on "XVI", and click Create Shortcut. 15. Click Yes. Now just double-click on the icon on your desktop to connect.
